Hot August Night 2016
This year, we eagerly participated in Hammond’s annual Hot August Night. It’s one of Downtown Hammond’s biggest parties and we had the opportunity to be a Wine Walk stop! We made sure to “do it big,” not only for our agency, but for the entire festival. We had everything from balloons to a company offering massages. Our friends and family came to mingle and meet each other. Many of our clients stopped by and a few even joined in with their own booths on the sidewalk outside of our office.
We had a spread of delicious appetizers and cookies prepared by ETC! Catering. Our desserts included mini cream puffs, fruit tarts, cakes, and mini lemon pies by the Cocoa Bean Bakery. It was a grand feast for all to behold.
Our assigned wine for the Wine Walk was a sparkling Simonet. Jessica and Eddie were our designated wine servers throughout the night. While Jessica laughed and socialized, Eddie couldn’t help but humor everyone who was looking for wine by saying, “We have a sparkling white wine. It tastes like every other white wine you've ever had. It's made with grapes.”
We were all honored to be asked to create the overall look for Hot August Night 2016, which included the poster, brochure, and other print collateral. We are very proud of how the designs turned out. Eddie can finally check that off of his bucket list.
Working with a local festival has long been at the top of my designer to-do list. Festivals offer you the opportunity to be a bit more creative with your design concepts and branding since the entire purpose of all your collateral is to be ‘eye-catching.’ This year, in working with Downtown Hammond’s very own Hot August Night festival, we finally got to let loose and create some beautiful pieces for both the print and digital collateral. It was a joy to break from the norm and really get to play around with design in fun and different ways!
